Become an Assembler! We are looking for a Controller to join our Assembly Health team. The Controller will work closely with the entire executive leadership team, oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to our Chief Financial Officer.

What you'll do

  • Primary responsibility for GAAP reporting; management of the general ledger, and ownership of all journal entries
  • Oversee core accounting functions including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and cash management procedures.
  • Support integration of acquired ancillary service practices and related accounting systems into consolidated accounting function.
  • Support creation and delivery of key operational and financial performance metrics for management oversight and board reporting on a weekly / monthly basis
  • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, receivables, payables, and capex.
  • Assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls, and checks.
  • Implement and oversee internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Support oversight and coaching / development of accounting and finance team members
  • Interface with outside auditors and be an internal leader of annual audit activity.
  • Track estimated tax payments and oversee annual tax process with outside tax advisor.

What we're looking for

  • “Type A” self-motivated, creative out-of-the-box thinker that naturally pushes to constantly improve systems, processes, and procedures to minimize non-value-added activities,
  • Solution-oriented (i.e., get stuff done in a fast-paced, multi-location environment)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • A CPA is required and prior experience in a public accounting firm is a plus.
  • Incredible attention to detail, tech-savvy (strong ERP systems background; database knowledge helpful)
  • Superior organizational and prioritization skills, exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Healthcare and PE backed experience is a plus. Desire to get exposure to M&A
  • Must have advanced Excel skills – i.e., pivot table, VLOOKUP, indirect, index, etc. Hands-on experience with accounting software—Paylocity and INTACCT are highly preferred.

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds at times.
